Falabella Stable Jaegersrust
In the romantic and authentic village of Oldeberkoop in the south-east part of Friesland is a 200 year old thatched farmhouse. The name “Jaeger Rust” owes this farm to its location in beautiful Drenthe Friese Wold between the rivers Tjonger and Linde. In earlier times this farm was used to refresh the horses and exchanging cargo boats had to pull forth along the rivers on the so-called “jaegpad”
In 1990, we have taken up residence in this 200 year old farm. The stables and the space around it gave us the opportunity to intensify our hobby horses, and to house our animals on our own yard. In 2009, having worked intensively with own horses after 25 years, broke a new phase in love for the pet. Many parts had come over in the equine / sports, but breeding was still a new area. Looking for a race who talked us to the imagination, we came repeatedly from the mysticism surrounding the only truly miniature horse breed in the world the “Falabella”. Yes ……… it is small, but they fill all the needs in those big horses also entail, except that you can not drive these little animals. After an intensive research phase, we were able to buy a limited number of quality mares, which we have deployed our breeding program, the quality of these mares has already proven itself in health, prime ring, and their foals. Like others, we also hope to contribute to the protection and preservation of this unique equine breed.
After 25 years of living on this fine farm here in April 2016 changes came in, and we moved 100 mtrs further to a special yard with a historic coach house where the work commenced at the stables to arrange this for our group Falabella. In mid-August / September 2016 our horses will find their new home.
